Soprano Harolyn Blackwell Shares her Love for the Stage and Teaching

World famous soprano Harolyn Blackwell has performed with everyone from Aretha Franklin to Luciano Pavarotti. She's sung for four presidents and one pope. For the last seven years she has also been a voice teacher at NYU Steinhardt. She spoke a bit about her career and the four P's.

Vocal Performance Students Score Top Honors at NATS Auditions

We congratulate the NYU Vocal Performance students who competed in the National Association of Teachers of Singing (NATS) Eastern Region Student Auditions held in Philadelphia March 15-17, 2024. All NYU students made it to the semifinal round with a large number of students earning top honors in their divisions during the finals.

Composition About Climate Change Given New Life

NYU Steinhardt Jazz composer, arranger and pianist Rich Shemaria talks about his work One World Suite, a piece he spent the last six months arranging for symphony orchestra. Along with the Jazz faculty band Combo Nuvo, he plans to take One World Suite on the road this summer and perform in Vienna.
